Fees and government funding go only part way to providing the centre with the much needed facilities for our children. As one of the very few child care centres in the area without a “compulsory fundraising levy”, the Rozelle Child Care Centre relies on the generosity of you – our parent community – to achieve the many and varied items on the centre’s wishlist.

And this support has been amazing!

The dolphins are enjoying a diverse and spacious playground as a result of the centre’s fundraising efforts, while the possums had their equipment upgraded and/or replaced through funds raised at various events and activities.

While our centre's major goal is to upgrade the grasshoppers playground so they can enjoy a more engaging and stimulating play environment (see the new playground plans just outside the Grasshopper's room), we also aim to continue to provide funds to all three rooms for their individual wish lists.

So Events are crucial and it is our children who see the direct benefits of the efforts we make.

Fundraising update

Over the past year, through your generosity, we have been able to give the centre a fresh feel with a brand new paint job, provide the 20 or so staff with a second bathroom and install a new air-conditioner in the possums lunch and play rooms!

But the big kahuna on the centre’s wish list – the Grasshopper’s new playground – will soon also become a reality.  Surveying of the site has commenced and plans now designed and on display. The proposed start date to build the new playground is January 2010!

How Can You Help?

1. Join the Events team. The more people involved, the more ideas we can generate as to how to raise these much needed funds. The Events committee meets at 7.30pm on the first Tuesday of each month and all parents of the centre are welcome to attend.

2. Donate a product or service that can be raffled off at one or more of our major events.

3. Show your support by attending fundraising events and participating in activities. Visit our Partnership Programs page to find out about our ongoing fundraising activities.

4. Support those businesses that support our centre. Show them we appreciate their involvement.
